Broadly, the overall syllabus covers the following:
- Techniques demonstrated (floor work / foot work)
- Patterns (known as ‘tuls’)
- 3 step sparring
- 2 step sparring
- 1 step sparring
- free sparring (1 against 1, and at higher grades 2 against 1)
- power / breaking
- Release from hold (grabs & releases)
- Theory work
Students learn appropriate to their grade, learning new techniques as well as building on the techniques they have already learnt.
